Resolution No. 002 s. 2009

Requesting approval for regular qualification programs offering in sncat campuses to avail the pangulong gloria scholarship (pgs) and other scholarships programs of tesda


WHEREAS, the Surigao del Norte College of Agriculture and Technology (SNCAT) as TESDA Administered School in the Province of Surigao del Norte is offering Agri-fisheries and other related TVET Programs;

WHEREAS, SNCAT is accepting Institutional and Barangay Officials Scholars and other scholarship programs of TESDA in maintaining the offering of its agri-fisheries and other related courses;

WHEREAS, SNCAT is considering the TESDA Scholarship Program CY 2009 as contained in TESDA ORDER No. 410, S. 2008 dated December 19, 2008 effective January 2, 2009 which supersedes TESDA Order N0. 398, Series of 2008 in response to the Economic Sustainability Plan to reduce unemployment and underemployment in the face of financial crisis gripping the global economy and to assist the poor and deserving Filipinos to enroll in job-directed training programs of TESDA under the Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo Administration;

WHEREAS, SNCAT was given the target of 226 scholarship slots to offer the following qualification programs as contained in the Joint Memorandum to all Regional Directors from the Deputy Directors General-Field Operations (CLGUS) dated January 14, 2009 re: January –April 2009 Consolidated Targets of TESDA TTIs under the PGMA-TWSP:

WHEREAS, SNCAT in compliance with subsequent memorandums issued from the TESDA Authorities to implement scholarships programs related to the aforementioned qualification titles that will enhance employability without costs to the scholars aims to register all the programs under the Unified TVET Programs Registration and Accreditation System (UTPRAS);

WHEREAS, SNCAT in its application for program registration, is required to submit a duly approved Board Resolution “to offer the programs” as contained in the Memorandum of the TESDA OIC-Regional Director to the Provincial Director dated March 18, 2009;

WHEREAS, to facilitate the UTPRAS registration of the non-registered programs SNCAT, hereby requests for a School Board Resolution to offer these programs.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the School Board approves the Resolution;

BE IT RESOLVED FINALLY that copies of this RESOLUTION be furnished to the TESDA Authorities for appropriate action and prompt approval.
